How to Add a Budget Item

Navigation: Client Administration > Search for an Existing Client > Edit Client > Budget > Budget Items > Add a New Item

This guide explains how to add a new individual line item (such as a source of income or a specific expense) to a client's budget.

Important Note on Budget Types

The ability to add new, custom items depends entirely on the Budget Type you are working with.


Instructions by Budget Type

For a "Standard" Budget

You can freely add custom income and expense items to a Standard Budget.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. From the "Budget Items" screen, click the Add a New Item button.
  2. Complete the fields as described in the reference guide below.
  3. Click Save.

Field Reference Guide ("Add Item" Screen)

Field Name Description
Description Enter a clear name for the item (e.g., "Monthly Rent," "Salary," "Car Insurance").
Type Select whether the item is an Income, an Expense, or Obsolete.
Amount Enter the monetary value for this specific item.
