How to Add a Client from a Credit Bureau

This guide explains how to efficiently create a
new client profile by performing a real-time credit bureau enquiry and using the
information returned to automatically populate the client's details.

Overview
This feature saves time and reduces manual data
entry errors by creating a new client directly from the results of a successful
credit check. The system pulls available data such as name, ID number, and
contact details directly from the credit bureau into the new client's
profile.
Before You Begin
- Default Bureau: The system will automatically use
the preferred credit bureau (e.g., XDS, VeriCred, Experian) that has been
configured by your System Administrator at Setups > MaxConsumer >
MaxConsumer Setup.
- Screen Variations: The
on-screen fields for the enquiry may look slightly different depending on
which service provider is set as the default.
Step-by-Step Guide

Navigate to the Enquiry
Function:
- Go to
Client Administration > Add a
New Client.
- Click the Do Bureau Enquiry
button.

Enter the ID Number:
- You will be prompted to
enter the prospective client's ID number.
- ID Validation: The system
will automatically check if this ID number already exists in your database.
If it is a duplicate, you will be prevented from performing the enquiry
until a unique ID number is entered.

Perform the Enquiry:
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the
credit check with the selected bureau.

Create the Client from the
Results:
- If the credit bureau enquiry is successful, a
button labelled “Create Client From Enquiry Result” will
become available. Click this button.

Review and Complete the
Profile:
- The system will instantly create a new
client entry and automatically populate the profile with the data returned
by the bureau. This can include:
- Name and Surname
- ID Type and ID Number
- Date of Birth
- Work, Home, and
Cellphone Numbers
- Physical Address
- You will then be taken directly to the new
client's profile, where you can complete any remaining required fields or
update the information as needed.
Viewing the Enquiry
Reports
After an enquiry is performed, the generated
credit report can be found in the following locations:
- DocSpace: The full credit report is typically
available for viewing here.
- Non-Client History: For
enquiries performed via Compuscan or XDS, a
record of the transaction can be found under their respective non-client
history sections.
Reporting on New Clients
To see a list of all clients that were created
within a specific period (including those added via this method), you can run
the following report:
- Go to
Reporting > Client > Client
Report.
- Select the desired date range to view all
newly created clients.
