FEZA Cards
This guide explains the required process for
setting up new EMV-compliant FEZA cards for client eWallets. In line with international banking standards,
all FEZA cards are now EMV-compliant. This means they contain an embedded
microchip, providing a much greater level of security for all cardholders. All FEZA Cards ordered after November
22, 2017, are EMV FEZA Cards. A new process is required to link these
cards to client eWallets. The most important rule to understand is that
new EMV cards are not compatible with old eWallet accounts. Warning: You
cannot link a new EMV FEZA card to an eWallet account that
previously had an old magstripe card issued to it. Follow this new workflow to correctly issue an
EMV card to a client. Step 1: Acknowledge the Error
Message If you attempt to link a new EMV card to a
client's old eWallet, the system will prevent the action and display the
following error message: Step 2: Create a New eWallet When you see the error above, you are required
to create a completely new eWallet for the client. The system
will only permit a new EMV-linked eWallet request for a client who does not
already have one. Step 3: Link the EMV Card to the New
eWallet Proceed to link the new EMV FEZA card to the
newly created eWallet account. Step 4: Update the Client's
Records The process for handling PINs has also changed
with the new EMV cards.EMV FEZA Cards: Setup and Important
