1. Overview

This screen provides a comprehensive list of every financial transaction recorded against a specific loan. It serves as a complete financial history or ledger for the loan, showing all debits and credits, including payments, fees, and interest charges.

2. Understanding Transaction Dates and Calculations

It is important to understand how transactions, particularly interest and fees, are dated and calculated:

3. Transaction Columns

The following columns provide details for each transaction:

Column Description
Transaction Date The date the transaction was recorded on the system.
Effective Date The date the transaction actually took place and is used for interest calculation.
Description A brief description of the transaction (e.g., "Loan Receipt," "Interest Charged").
Amount The value of the transaction. Positive amounts represent debits (increasing the amount owed), and negative amounts represent credits (decreasing the amount owed).
Batch Code A unique code that groups the debit and credit sides of a transaction together. The sum of all entries within a single batch code is always zero.
Event Number The unique identification number of the financial event used to process the transaction in the General Ledger .

4. Sorting and Viewing Options

Use the tabs at the top of the transaction list to change the sort order.

Tab / Button Action
Sort on Effective Date Sorts the transaction list chronologically by the Effective Date.
Sort on Transaction Date Sorts the transaction list chronologically by the Transaction Date.
Transaction Date Descending Sorts the transaction list by Transaction Date from most recent to oldest.
Archive Click this button to view the transaction history related to an opening balance from archived or converted data .
