Bad Debt Written Off Report
This section details the Bad Debt Written Off Report, a tool for tracking and
analyzing loans that have been written off.

The Bad Debt Written Off Report provides a
list of loans that were written off within a selected date range.
To access the report: Go to Reporting > Loan > Bad Debt Written Off
Report. Note: The Security option for this report is configured under
Role Setup > Reporting > Bad Debts Written Off Report. The report offers various filters to refine
your data, allowing you to drill down information by branch, salesperson, date,
and more.
Branch:
(Optional) Generate the report for written-off loans associated with a
specific branch.
Region:
(Optional) Generate the report for written-off loans associated with a
specific region.
User:
Generate the report for written-off loans processed by a specific
user.
Client Number Start / Client Number End: Generate the report for written-off loans
within a specified client number range.
Status: Filter by clients with a specific status. You can also
select All. Payment Frequency: Filter by clients with a specific payment
frequency. You can also select All. Bank: Filter by clients associated with a specific bank. You can
also select All. Loan Number Start / Loan Number End: Generate the report for specific written-off loans
within a specified loan number range.
Written Off Date Start: (Required) Enter the start date in
dd/mm/yyyy format. This filters loans written off on
or after this date.
Written Off Date End: (Required) Enter the end date in
dd/mm/yyyy format. This filters loans written off on
or before this date.
Loan Product: Filter by specific loan products. You can also select
All. Payback Type: Filter by loans with a specific payback type. You can
also select All. Salesperson: Filter by loans created by a specific salesperson. You
can also select All. Employer Search: To view a list of all employers, use an asterisk
(*). You can also type the full or partial employer name and click
Search to populate the Employer drop-down
list. Employer: Generate the report for written-off loans of clients
associated with a specific employer. You can also select All. Classification: Filter by written-off loans of clients whose
employer has a specific classification. You can also select
All. Economic Sector: Filter by written-off loans of clients whose
employer belongs to a specific economic sector. You can also select
All. Finish: Click
this button to generate the report. Cancel: Click
this button to cancel the report request. The report output is primarily sorted by Client Number and then by
Loan Number. Once the report is complete, click the hyperlink (e.g., "XLS: Bad Debt
Written Off Report")
to open it. Spreadsheet:
Reports in this format can be opened with software like Microsoft Excel or
Open Office. This allows you to easily sort and analyze the information
according to your business needs.
Important Note on Comparison: The Bad Debt Written Off Report cannot
be directly compared with the Detailed Loan Report. This report specifically
tracks transactions where the event refers to the "Bad Debt Written Off"
attribute, and the Bad Debt Amount corresponds to the sum of debits on the
Detailed Ledger Report. Since a loan may be written off at a much later date
than its original transaction, direct comparison between these two reports is
not possible.
The report includes the following
information: Client Number: The unique identifier of the client whose loan was written
off.
Client Initials: The initials of the client. Client Name:
The first name of the client. Client Surname: The last name of the client. Status: The
current status of the client whose loan was written off.
Reason: The reason why the loan was written off. You can compare
this information with the Loan History. Loan Number: The unique identifier of the loan that was written off.
You can compare this information with the Loan History. Loan Product: The type of loan product that was written off. You can
compare this information with the Loan History. Loan Payback Type: The payback type of the loan that was written
off. You can compare this information with the Loan History. Date: The date when the loan was written off. You can compare this
information with the Loan History. Client Amount: The total amount that was written off, representing
the total outstanding balance on the day of the write-off. You can compare
this information with the Loan History. VAT Amount Reversed: The total amount of VAT reversed for the bad
debt written-off loan. This amount is recorded in the VAT Output
Ledger. Bad Debt Amount: The specific amount of bad debt on the loan that
was written off. This amount is recorded in the Bad Debt
Ledger. Reference Number: The written-off reference number, which will
appear on the Bad Debt Ledger. Custom Reference: Any custom reference number completed on the loan.
You can compare this information with the Loan History. Description: The transaction description, which will show "Financial
Event Bad Debt Written Off" when a loan is written off. You can compare this
information with the Client Transaction. User: The user who processed the loan write-off. You can compare
this information with the Client Transaction. Capital: The capital amount charged on the contract as of the
agreement date. This information is available in the Loan
History. Interest: The interest amount charged on the contract as of the
agreement date. This information is available in the Loan
History. Variable Fees: The fee amount, including VAT if applicable, calculated on the
contract as of the agreement date. This is applicable only to loans created
with the variable charges calculation method.
Variable Insurance: The insurance amount, including VAT if applicable, calculated
on the contract as of the agreement date. This is applicable only to loans
created with the variable charges calculation method.
Service Fee Included: The total service fee, including VAT if
applicable, calculated on the contract as of the agreement date. This
information is available in the Loan History. Initiation Fee Included: The total initiation fee, including VAT if
applicable, calculated on the contract as of the agreement date. This
information is available in the Loan History. Admin Fee Included: The total admin fee, including VAT if
applicable, calculated on the contract as of the agreement date. This
information is available in the Loan History. CPI Premium Included: The total CPI premium fees, including VAT if
applicable, calculated on the contract as of the agreement date. This
information is available in the Loan History. Total VAT: The total VAT amount calculated on the contract as of the
agreement date. This information is available in the Loan
History. Default Charges: The amount charged on a defaulted loan. Total: The
sum of the original total repayable amount and any default charges.
Conservative Amounts: Amounts calculated on the Bad Debt Amounts, excluding VAT, and
including defaulted charges.
Conservative VAT: The VAT amount on the loan, excluding VAT on default
charges.
Conservative Total: The sum of the values in the Conservative
Amounts column. Record User:
The user who recorded the transaction as of the contract's agreement
date.
Record Date:
The date the transaction was recorded as of the contract's agreement
date.
Record Time:
The time the transaction was recorded as of the contract's agreement
date.
