> Add a New File Layout > Manually
This section explains how to manually create a new
file layout. This offers greater flexibility than using a template, allowing you
to define every aspect of the layout.
Steps to Add a New File Layout Manually
- Click on Add a New File
Layout.
- Select the Manually option.
- Complete the following fields:
- Description: Provide a
clear description or name for the file layout. This is a required
field.
- Enabled: Select this checkbox if the file
layout should be active and available for use.
- Link Detail Entries to:
Choose how the detail entries in the file should be linked. Your options are
Client Number, Client ID Number,
Client Bank Account Number, or Loan
Number.
- Use Record Identifier: Select this checkbox if
your file includes a Record ID.
- Additional Header: Specify the number of
header lines present in your file.
- Additional Trailer: Specify the number of
trailer lines present in your file.
- Format: Select the file
format. This is a required field. Options include
CSV, XLS (Excel 2003), or XLSX
(Excel 2007+).
- Column Separator: If the
file format is CSV, specify the character used to
separate columns (e.g., comma, semicolon).
- Use Transaction Counter:
Select this checkbox if the file format is CSV and you need
to include a transaction counter.
Buttons
After making all your changes:
- Save: Click this button to save the information
to the database.
- Cancel: Click this button if
you do not want to save the information to the database.
