2. Manage Experian Enquiries in MaxMoney
2.1. Client Consent
The client (borrower) must provide written
consent for a credit enquiry. This consent is typically part of the standard
MaxMoney loan agreement. When performing an enquiry, you must confirm that the
consumer has given their consent.
- Ensure Address Mandatory is set to "Yes."
- Only mark services as
"Yes" if they have been activated by Experian for your branch.
- Select Client Consent: YES; an
enquiry cannot proceed without the client's consent.
2.2. Client Settings
To enable forced credit enquiries for a
client:
- Go to Client Administration >
Search for a Client > Edit Client > Financial.
- Select the checkbox “Force Credit
Enquiry”.
- Click Save.
2.3. Client Enquiry
Use this function to perform an enquiry on a
client already loaded in your system:
- Navigate to Client
Administration.
- Search for an existing
client.
- Highlight the client and click the
Compuscan button.
Important: A credit check
must be performed before each loan as part of the affordability assessment, in
compliance with NCR Regulations.
2.4. Credit Report Highlights
The credit report provides crucial information
for assessing a borrower's creditworthiness and ability to take on additional
credit (affordability assessment). Pay close attention to:
- Current accounts,
balances, credit limits, and repayment amounts.
- Non-payment records,
delinquencies, judgments, bankruptcy, written-off debt, and late payments.
- "Definite Match" and
"Possible Matches" indicators.
- The Credit Score.
- Any Warning(s).
- Details on Debt
Restructuring, Adverse Information, Debt
Collections, Notices, and
Defaults.
2.5. Affordability Assessment
When conducting the budget assessment,
consider the amount of existing loan repayments shown on the credit report.
Always review the credit report information carefully before granting a new
loan.
2.6. View Client Enquiry History
To view a client's enquiry history:
- Go to Client Administration >
Search for a Client > Edit Client > Compuscan.
- A list of all client enquiries will be
displayed.
2.7. Non-Client Enquiry
Use this function to perform an enquiry on an
individual who is not yet loaded in your MaxMoney data:
- Navigate to Non Client >
Compuscan Enquiry > Do New Enquiry.
- Print the Consent form
and have the borrower sign it.
- Complete the ID number
on the Enquiry.
- If you later decide to add the client to
MaxMoney and grant them a loan, you will be able to link this enquiry to the
new loan.
3. New Loan
When creating a new loan:
- Go to Client Administration >
Search for a Client > New Loan.
- Ensure the “Use Compuscan” checkbox is selected.
- Select the Experian Number
from the drop-down list.
Note: If Automatic Experian
Enquiry has been set up, the system will automatically initiate an Experian
enquiry based on your configurations.
4. Experian Reports
Access Experian reports through:
- Reporting >
Compuscan - Get a list of enquires for a period.
5. Data Sharing
Only loan statuses are shared, not client
statuses. For detailed information on data sharing, refer to the SACRRA
documentation.
